The Marketing Director for the College of Liberal Arts + Sciences serves as a member of the Marketing + Communication team as a marketing and communication leader for the faculty and staff of the College of Liberal Arts + Sciences. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position works closely with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts + Sciences.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of all aspects of the College of Liberal Arts + Sciences and actively execute key communication initiatives to advance university + LAS strategic objectives. Advance strategic objectives including enrollment (undergraduate, graduate, international), student retention, community relations, advancement, athletics and ESU brand and identity in alignment with ONE ESU vision. In close collaboration with fellow Marketing + Communications team members and LAS Dean, develop and manage marketing strategies across all Liberal Arts + Sciences departments including messaging, enrollment growth, promotion of events and initiatives to advance LAS goals, objectives and targets. Executes initiatives to support undergraduate, graduate, international prospective student progression through the funnel from inquiry to enrolled to increase number of enrolled students. In close partnership with LAS Dean, faculty and fellow Marketing + Communication team members, identify opportunities to raise the profile of ESU by capturing, promoting and earning media coverage through faculty and student stories, key events, initiatives and activities (i.e. PAROC events, Math Days, Pre-Medical Fellowship signing day, etc). Contribute to foundation and alumni strategic objectives including communication, engagement, donor relations and development by collecting information, writing stories, development of alumni messages/newsletters in alignment with ONE ESU vision.  Serve as the liaison with LAS faculty for communications, marketing and enrollment initiatives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with LAS Dean and faculty, meet monthly to determine needs, identify opportunities and report status on ongoing projects and enrollment. Ensure LAS web presence is up to date, in alignment with web standards and style guide and develop web content in alignment with SEO objectives and guidelines.   Manage and execute comprehensive LAS social media strategy in alignment with university direction and SEO objectives and guidelines. Lead, manage, ensure adherence to, and flawless execution of, the ESU brand at every opportunity. Maintain office within LAS three days per week and two days per week in Marketing + Communication.
  • Identify and recommend new ways to promote university offerings and increase engagement and use data to inform, adjust and evolve all campaigns and deliverables. Positively and regularly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and/or support marketing objectives, complete tasks and identify and solve problems. Be a positive contributor with fellow marketing team members on various activations, brainstorms and content ideation. Identify trends to leverage and test, then measure, provide insights and deliver regular actionable reports. 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field plus at least 3 years of relevant experience. A Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field may substitute for a portion of the required experience.

Compensation:

 

$45,000-$50,000 with comprehensive benefits package.
