The exercise science faculty in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Alabama invite applications to fill 3 full-time, non-tenure track renewable contract positions at the clinical assistant professor rank in exercise science to begin August 2023. There are currently 7 tenure track and 2 clinical (non-tenure track) faculty in this area. Enrollment in the Exercise Science concentration of the Kinesiology undergraduate major has increased considerably in recent years. Applicants are sought who can teach 4 classes per term and engage in service activities related to the departmental and college missions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned graduate degree (master’s or doctorate) in exercise science, or related field
  • Previous teaching experience in exercise science
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in exercise science, or related field


Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to 8 classes during the academic year in exercise science or related areas
  •  Help market the undergraduate exercise science concentration
  • Meet with prospective students and their families and attend events on campus aimed at prospective students
  •  Participate in professional organizations
  •  Participate in academic citizenship
