The Associate Director of Educational Partnerships and Outreach (EPO) provides leadership and strategic direction related to the Office of Educational Partnerships and Outreach. The incumbent works closely with the Director to manage and execute all programs related to pre-college, transfer, accelerated credit, high school transition, or pipeline programming. The Associate Director is the regional leader for EPO in the Klamath Basin. The incumbent will manage EPO initiatives in Klamath Falls. The Associate Director provides leadership and support to assist in the execution and evaluation of all programs in collaboration with the Director of EPO and Academic Leadership. The incumbent will make data-driven decisions for partnership expansion that are congruent with the mission and goals of EPO and the universities strategic plan.

Department Information:

The mission of Oregon Tech’s Office of Educational Partnerships and Outreach (EPO) is to support institutional and state goals by cultivating and maintaining partnerships with area high schools and connecting faculties, community colleges, and universities to provide increased educational opportunities and resources for students.

EPO Goals

  • Increase visibility, opportunity, and participation in Oregon Tech’s Dual Credit and High School Transition programs throughout Oregon
  • Provide articulation and dual enrollment agreements that align with Oregon Tech’s academic programs and regional missions
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences for youth in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in higher education management, education, communication, business, or related field
  • Proficient in Ellucian Banner, SLATE CRM, or other CRM tools
  • Knowledge Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems
  • Knowledge of academic advising, admissions and transfers pathways
  • Understanding of the K12 and community college systems
  • Understanding of STEM educational barriers and STEM programming that serve historically underrepresented students
  • Experience in organizational development and working with website tools and databases

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communication or relevant field
  • Four to seven (4 to 7) years’ experience in educational outreach activities
  • Experience in an educational setting, including an understanding of higher education, curriculum development, academic partnerships, and academic advising
  • Experience with admissions, financial aid, and transfer policies and practices
  • Experience writing and executing grant programming via state and federal funding opportunities to support youth access programming 
  • Academic advising experience
  • Creation of successful programming that serves youth and focuses on serving priority populations
  • Clear understanding of FERPA and records keeping practices in higher education
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully work, communicate, and collaborate in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive setting
  • Experience or educational background in STEM fields
  • Have or have the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications within 3 months of hire
