The College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University is accepting applications for a faculty position (career contract, rank open) in Sociology. Shenandoah University is a comprehensive private institution located in the historic and scenic Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, approximately 70 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. The position is full-time and will start in August 2023; an on-campus, in-person presence is expected.
Responsibilities:
Candidates will be required to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in sociology, from introductory to upper-level courses, including interdisciplinary studies and provide academic advising to sociology students. We are specifically interested in finding a dynamic and collaborative faculty member who will re-envision what sociology means within a diverse college of Arts and Sciences.

Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in sociology or a closely related terminal degree by the start of the Fall 2023 semester, demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly and professional activities, and experience teaching undergraduate courses.
