POSITION An instructional academic staff position in Finance is available in the Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in all areas of finance who is committed to teaching excellence. This appointment carries an initial one-year appointment and is expected to continue beginning with the 2023/2024 academic year, beginning August 21, 2023. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master in Finance, MBA, or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution and significant finance relevant working experience are required.  Desired area of specialty is in general finance (with interests in principle of finance, wealth management, and investments). Professional certification, evidence of teaching experiences, ability to bring diverse perspectives, and relevant work experience are all considered assets. Applicants should demonstrate capacity for high quality teaching (as evidenced by teaching evaluations if available). Applicants must be able to legally work in the U.S. as of the first day of the contract.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of successful university teaching, as well as demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness are all considered an asset.

DUTIES: We are looking for an individual who has a desire to teach in a growing finance program.  The successful applicant will be working in our finance program and teaching courses such as principles of finance, along with additional finance areas of interest such as advanced wealth management, corporate finance, and other finance related courses.

Applicants will be expected to teach courses as assigned in the Department of Accounting and Finance, participate in professional development, interact with students and be involved with student organizations, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.  Teaching responsibilities may involve classroom, online, and/or hybrid delivery in both the undergraduate and at the MBA level.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Accounting and Finance is a vibrant and cohesive group pf teachers and scholars, dedicated to excellence in teaching and remaining current in their fields through scholarly activity. The department offers comprehensive undergraduate majors in both accounting and finance. The present faculty consists of 12 tenure track/tenured faculty and 6 full time academic instructors serving about 400 accounting majors/minors and 600 finance majors/minors. The Department also provides instruction for the MBA and entrepreneurship programs of the College. The department is housed in UW-Eau Claire’s AACSB accredited College of Business.
