The Chair of the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental
Engineering (CAEE) Department is the academic leader and
administrative leader of the Department. The CAEE Department Chair
reports to the Dean of the College of Engineering and is a member
of the College's Leadership Team.
The CAEE Department Chair, working in collaboration with the CAEE faculty and staff, is responsible for the success, relevance, and continued progression of the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department and the competitiveness of its graduates. This charge includes ensuring the progression of the department's research, teaching, and service mission; and working with constituents to ensure the vibrancy, operations, synergistic collaboration, and competitiveness of the department; as well as leveraging a department strategic plan to achieve measurable goals. The CAEE Chair is also responsible for budget development, management and allocation; the assessment and accreditation of CAEE programs, ensuring the relevance and execution of the instruction and research of the department, and promoting the Department through alumni, donor, and corporate engagement.
