Teaching Assistant Professor of Business German

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (http://gsll.unc.edu) is seeking a superior and innovative instructor of German with expertise in the teaching of Business German. This is a fixed term Teaching Assistant Professor position with a three-year appointment to begin on July 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will teach six courses a year, including all levels of the undergraduate language curriculum (from novice to advanced language content-based instruction), and will perform service for the department, as well as other units in the University.

A doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in German Studies or closely related field is required by July 1, 2023. Native or near-native proficiency in German and English is also required. Area of specialization in German is open.

Candidates are expected to have familiarity with the teaching and accreditation of Business German, as well as in the methods and technologies used for teaching elementary to advanced German at the collegiate level.
