Project Manager, Digital Operations - University Communications and Marketing

We are seeking a Project Manager of Digital Operations to join our University Communications and Marketing (UCM) division! This role serves as the project management lead for the digital strategy team; develops and updates project plans and sub-plans, accounting for risk, resources and expectation setting; this role leads the operations for the digital strategy team and creates strategies to offer enterprise tools to campus communicators. In this role, you will manage timelines of major digital initiatives, including redesigns and CMS template improvements; and provide support to user education, training and communications. The individual in this position is a key player in helping to expand the use of the campus CMS system, working closely with Computing Services, Marketing & Communications colleagues and campus partners.

Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Recommend and develop division-wide systems for project management, collaborating across UCM to support efficient workflows and reporting
  • Understand and integrate project management methodologies into work plans based on the business needs and culture (example: using Agile for iterative work projects, waterfall approach for others)
  • Serve as the main point of contact or secondary contact for 3rd party vendors, developing plans for implementation and user education (examples: Google Analytics, SiteImprove)
  • Partner with developers and designers to offer mass communication tools and templates
  • Aid in crafting processes and procedures for new and existing sites
  • Assess the efficiency of digital solutions. When projects go wrong, is able to think quickly and creatively and move the team to a successful resolution with minimal disruption
  • Solicit feedback from partners and identify areas for improvement. Incorporate improvements into future digital technology plans. Determine needs, materials and implementation of technologies, including medium for delivery and technical resources. Act as a project manager to lead all aspects of work and ensure objectives are met
  • Demonstrate a sense of personal urgency on behalf of collaborators and team, keen attention to detail, and a willingness to assist teammates on diverse tasks as needed
  • Establish and implement a communication plan that includes stakeholders and team to collaborate closely on a regular basis
  • Lead quality assurance process, both for front-end (websites) and backend (CMS and other tools)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ experience, post-degree in marketing or communications setting
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
