The International Studies and Languages Division of Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences invites applications for an adjunct faculty appointment in German Studies and Language for the spring 2023 academic semester (January 3 - April 30). 2023. The appointment may be renewed for the 2023-2024 academic year based upon successful performance and program need. The position requires teaching two in-person courses per semester at our undergraduate campus in Malibu, California. Courses to be taught will primarily consist of different levels of German language (including first year German) but could also include Upper Division German Studies (e.g. literature, film, or culture). Successful applicants will have near-native fluency in both German and English and evidence of prior successful undergraduate teaching experience. A Ph.D. in German language, literature, culture or a related field is strongly preferred, although applicants with an M.A. will be considered.
