POSITION: The School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation (SEFLA) in the College of Education and Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor specializing in technology integration in P12 schools to begin in August 2023. Teaching Assistant Professor is a renewable term, non-tenure track position eligible for reappointment and promotion. All candidates, particularly those from underrepresented/diverse populations, who possess diverse skillsets/competencies and creative pedagogical approaches to integrative technology are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is designed for instructors who prioritize excellent pedagogical, technology integration, and student mentoring skills. The normal teaching load is 4:4 and includes mentoring graduate teaching associates in teaching the same course. The primary, though not exclusive, teaching responsibility is Applications of Educational Technology, a course for pre-service teachers that is offered in face-to-face and online modes. The teaching responsibilities may vary from semester or year based on the successful candidate’s specialization and preferences and current program needs. Candidates with previous experience teaching in P12 schools or as instructor of record for educational technology courses and experience teaching a mix of online and face-to-face courses are especially welcome.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Learning Design, and Technology; Educational Technology; Instructional Design and Technology; Learning Sciences, or a closely related field, plus a record of excellence in teaching. Qualified candidates will have experience in P12 school environments and the ability to engage in collaborative projects with Professional Education faculty and graduate students. Candidates should have expertise in theories, technologies, and methods associated with the fields of Learning Design and Technology, Educational Technology, or Learning Sciences, as well as a demonstrated interest in the university’s land grant mission and a desire to make a positive impact on the community through teaching, and service. We seek equity-minded candidates that will contribute to a culture of inclusive excellence within the department, the College of Education and Human Sciences, and Oklahoma State University. We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate a commitment to OSU's land-grant mission by training and supporting diverse populations through their instruction, research, and service.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive medical and retirement plans.
