Department Chair, Engineering Technology
The College of Engineering at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Engineering Technology. The Department is committed to advancing LTU’s research portfolio, strengthening our ABET accredited undergraduate programs, and reinforcing industry partnerships. The College of Engineering is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and welcomes applications from women and underrepresented groups.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology, Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields. In addition, the candidate is expected to have prior academic experience at a U.S. institution, a distinguished record of leadership, teaching, and scholarship, and a commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The candidate is expected to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and manage. It is anticipated that the appointment will begin fall 2023.

ABOUT US
Located in Southfield, Michigan, LTU was founded in 1932, and offers more than 100 programs through its Colleges of Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Business and Information Technology, and Engineering. Of these, Engineering is the oldest and largest, enrolling approximately 900 undergraduate and 250 graduate students. The College includes five departments: biomedical, civil and architectural, electrical and computer, mechanical-robotics-industrial, and technology. The College serves both full-time and part-time students. The University enjoys strong ties with many industries headquartered in the region and is expanding graduate, professional development, and applied research programs.
Lawrence Technological University’s Department of Engineering Technology has five full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 140 students. The department offers the following degrees: B.S. Audio Engineering Technology, B.S. Construction Engineering Technology and Management, B.S. Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and M.S. Engineering Quality.
