Administrative Assistant
Northwood University seeks an Administrative Assistant to support the maintenance and retention of student records and information; perform data entry; participate in student persistence and retention efforts; and provide customer service and support for the Registrar and Academic Advising departments. This part-time position reports to the University Registrar.
Key Responsibilities :
· supports the maintenance of academic records and records retention;
· performs data entry, including academic, admissions and conversion data;
· supports persistence and retention efforts by calling, texting and emailing students;
· maintains a professional level of confidentiality in protection of student records;
· supports institutional compliance with FERPA and other accrediting agency standards, applicable to student records;
· understands and upholds general rules, regulations and policies of the college;
· performs other duties as delegated or assigned.
Expectations :
· understand the university record retention policies;
· be familiar with imaging work flows and document types;
· have a high level of accuracy for entry of data;
· have excellent phone and office etiquette;
· demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving;
· support the Registrar and Academic Advising departments; and
· project a professional, friendly, and customer-oriented attitude when serving all constituents.
Qualifications:
· possess an Associate degree or equivalent 5 years of work experience in an office setting;
· have professional experience with technology, Microsoft Office, record imaging systems and student database systems;
· possess a positive attitude, have the ability to be organized, and be adaptable to change;
· be able to work independently and sit for long periods of time;
· have an attention to detail; and
· possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
