Position Function:

Candidates are sought to develop a nationally- and internationally-recognized research (60%) and teaching (40%) program in environmental and/or resource economics. The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose work employs advanced quantitative methods in furthering the understanding of the complex relationships among the environment, natural resources, agriculture and food systems. The position will fill critical needs in undergraduate teaching and advising in the Environmental Economics & Sustainability major.

Salary Grade : UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) develop a nationally-prominent research program with extramural funding and publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, (2) provide high-quality undergraduate and/or graduate teaching (generally two to three courses per year) in environmental/resource economics and contribute to the development and growth of the undergraduate Environmental Economics & Sustainability (EES) major, (3) advise undergraduate students, particularly EES majors, and direct graduate student theses, (4) develop working relationships with scientists in other disciplines, and (5) communicate research results to relevant policy makers and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in agricultural/applied economics, economics or related field. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential to develop strong research and teaching programs. A willingness and ability to make significant contributions to interdisciplinary research is also desirable.
