Salesforce Developer
About the Opportunity
The Salesforce Developer reports to the Director of Salesforce Solutions and Architecture.
The Salesforce Developer is responsible for diagnosing, developing, testing, deploying and administering software systems in accordance with standard software development life cycle (SDLC) standards. These systems support the staffs of several Northeastern University divisions, including Enrollment Management and Marketing operations. The software encompasses admissions, enrollment, customer relationship management (Salesforce CRM), transfer evaluation, and student information systems.
The Salesforce Developer will build behind-the-scenes software for the Enrollment Management group. He / She will develop and implement applications and programs for the backend processing systems used within Enrollment Management and will be involved in liaising with the Business Analysts to ensure software projects meet requirements.
The Salesforce Developer performs, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Maintain and update Salesforce platform for daily operations
and functionality.
- Develop solutions using Salesforce best practices.
- Manage user accounts, profiles and permission sets.
- Collaborate with business users to analyze current operational
procedures, identify problems, and learn user
requirements.
- Analyze user requirements and procedures to automate processing
or to improve existing systems.
- Review Salesforce capabilities and limitations to determine if
requested changes / improvements are possible.
- Troubleshoot system errors and serve as liaison with Business
analysts, offshore resources, and vendors as needed.
- This position requires strong analytic, technical and
interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and
documentation skills are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems,
engineering, or related field required. Advanced degree
preferred.
- Minimum 4 - 6 years of overall CRM application development
experience.
- Minimum of 4 years working with Salesforce and advanced
development experience with Lightning Component Development, Apex
Classes, Controllers, Triggers, VF pages/Components, SOQL, SOSL,
Workflow & Approvals, Reports, and Dashboards.
- Minimum of 3 concurrent years of experience and demonstrated
proficiency in object-oriented programming, using technologies such
as, JavaScript, jQuery, J2E, and C++.
- Experience with Salesforce and database
integrations.
- Experience with web development technologies, such as HTML,
XML, PHP, and CSS.
- Familiarity with all phases of the Software Development Life
Cycle (SDLC). - Comfortable working with a team of information
technology specialists from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication
skills.
- Informatica Cloud experience is plus.
