Minimum Qualifications

As per General Statute: 143-746
© Appointment and Qualifications of Internal Auditors. – Any State employee who performs the internal audit function shall meet the minimum qualifications for internal auditors established by the Office of State Human Resources, in consultation with the Council of Internal Auditing.
The required education and experience requirements are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or in business administration or other field from an appropriately accredited institution (1) year of accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting/financial statements and reports
License/Certification Required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Office of Internal Audits provides a critical assessment, monitoring, and consultative role in assisting all levels of University management in the discharge of their oversight, management and operating responsibilities by providing relevant, timely, independent assurance, advisory and investigative services.

The Contributing Auditor position has responsibility for conducting professional auditing assignments, as assigned by the Chief Audit Officer ( CAO ).

Types of audits performed could include financial, internal controls, compliance, performance, and follow-up audits.

The scope of the position’s contact and responsibility extends to all University-related functions.

This position requires professional knowledge and skills in the auditing field, and must be able to complete an audit from beginning to end.

The position may also have certain budgetary duties and other duties deemed necessary by the CAO .

Suggested Salary Range
Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Physical Demands of Position

Physical effort involves retrieving files, visiting all areas of campus for audits and cash counts, and conducting physical inventory observations and tests.
