The Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University is seeking to fill a Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) faculty position in Early Childhood Education (ECE) beginning August 2023. ECE is our largest teacher preparation program, and it requires students to have a number of high-quality field experiences throughout the program, culminating in two semesters of student teaching. The compelling candidate will be able to provide high-quality coaching for ECE student teachers and teach both seminar and courses in math, science, or social studies methods or special education.

Ideally, the candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in one of these high-needs areas, as well as expertise to address program goals related to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.  In addition to the aforementioned duties, the responsibilities of the position include participating in department, college, and professional service activities. Required qualifications are an earned doctorate in education or a relevant field, experience in teaching university-level courses, and K-12 school experience.  An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Applicants interested in the position should send electronic copies of a letter of application, a current curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information of three references to edfac@temple.edu using the subject line “Clinical Assistant Professor ECE position.” References will not be contacted during the initial screening process.  Questions about the position should be directed to Professor Annemarie Hindman, Chair of the Search Committee annemarie.hindman@temple.edu.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled or closed.
