Visiting Assistant Professor - Theatre Education - (FAC002819)

The School of Theatre & Dance in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Education for the 2023-2024 academic year. We seek a leader with strong management and scheduling skills, as well as creative and intellectual rigor within the theatre education profession. This is a one-year, nine-month, non-tenure-track position. Additional paid summer work for the Cougar Actor Training Camp for high school students is possible.

Responsibilities include a 3/3 undergraduate teaching load in the BFA Theatre Education program as well as serving as the academic mentor to all students in that program. Recruiting work for the School of Theatre & Dance is expected as part of the service component of the position.

Qualifications :

Candidates should have a graduate degree in Theatre—M.F.A. or Ph.D. preferred, but M.A. in Theatre Education will be considered. A significant professional background in Theatre Education is required, including five or more years of teaching experience.
