The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work and Criminal Justice at Seton Hall University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Physical/Biological Anthropology. Successful candidates will have teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Anthropology, a demonstrated record of scholarship in Biological Anthropology and service experience in higher education.

The position is expected to contribute to the biological anthropology component of the Anthropology B.A. Program, including recruitment and promotional work to grow undergraduate enrollments, as well as teach students in the Allied Health track of the interdisciplinary Social and Behavioral Sciences B.A. Program.
Undergraduate course instruction will include introduction to physical/biological anthropology, research methods, medical anthropology/sociology, human osteology, introduction to archaeology, or the development of new undergraduate courses based on areas of expertise. The successful candidate will teach three undergraduate Anthropology courses per semester with possible course releases for research and/or administrative duties.
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications for the tenure-track Assistant Professor position include a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a closely aligned social science discipline, teaching experience at the undergraduate level in Anthropology, a demonstrated record of scholarship in Biological Anthropology, and service experience in higher education. Geographical area of specialization is open while complementing existing departmental strengths.
Desired Qualifications:
Desired area specializations are in biomedical anthropology, bioanthropological or bioarcheological perspectives on health disparities and/or human health and well-being. We also welcome candidates with a robust research agenda in Biological Anthropology, teaching experience in target courses, evidence of teaching excellence and/or innovation and/or an orientation toward interdisciplinary research/conversance across academic fields.
