Associate Director, Business Analytics
Reporting to the Director of Business Analytics for the University Development Office (UDO), the Associate Director supports fundraising, constituent-engagement, and operational goals by partnering with UDO and campus stakeholders in the development, deployment, management, and optimization of business processes and technology.
The Associate Director leads the discovery, analysis, and documentation of current and future business processes, information systems, and technical solutions with an initial focus on the implementation of a new fundraising CRM and constituent-engagement platform.
Responsibilities

Leads cross-functional workgroups or teams in the discovery, analysis, and documentation of current and future business processes, information systems, and technical solutions. Facilitates discussions, builds consensus, and supports the identification, documentation, prioritization, and implementation of improvements in alignment with business strategy.

Partners with business and technology experts to define product vision, explore functionality, elicit requirements, assess feasibility, develop roadmaps, and prioritize efforts. Works closely with business analysts, developers, and other technical team members to deliver meaningful and effective business solutions.

Supports the implementation of new fundraising CRM and constituent-engagement platforms and features – gathers and documents requirements; develops and executes test plans; configures business rules to meet user requirements; automates processes using CRM tools; and performs basic administrative CRM functions and configuration.

Leads the measurement and evaluation of business processes. Performs analysis and develops optimization strategies with business partners. Produces documentation, conducts meetings, and presents findings.

Partners with key stakeholders and team members to accurately understand, capture, document, and communicate complex business processes and technical details to a broad audience.

Continuously develops fundraising and advancement services business knowledge as well as functional and technical CRM subject matter expertise to assist stakeholders in improving processes and achieving operational goals.

Mentors, trains, and coaches junior team members. Assists with task management and leadership of the Business Analytics team as appropriate.

Serves as a subject matter expert for one or more advancement information system platform and provides application support and configuration as necessary.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Five + years of professional experience with a combination of business analysis, information system design, facilitation, data analysis/research, and communications responsibilities. Strong demonstrated understanding of the fundraising business, key fundraising concepts, and the varying priorities of fundraising organization members. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and clarify complex and/or ambiguous information from multiple sources using a variety of tools and techniques. Demonstrated ability to organize complex tasks into manageable work with meaningful and measurable results. Strong ability to collaborate with functional and technical staff as well as end users. Ability to learn key facets of a new business area and discern what is most important for an initiative or project. Experienced with business process reengineering and identifying opportunities for applying people, process, technology, and/or data to effectively improve outcomes. Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of appropriate levels of communication. Attention to and appreciation of detail. Self-directed and dedicated to working as a member of a diverse collaborative team. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Currently, we are unable to sponsor H1B visas.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher. Five + years of professional experience working in a development or fundraising office, preferably in a higher education environment. Two + years of Salesforce Admin/Business Analyst experience and/or equivalent Salesforce Certification - Salesforce Certified Administrator (ADM201), Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator (ADM211), and/or Salesforce Certified Business Analyst. Experience or familiarity with leading university advancement platforms – Affinaquest, Anthology Raise, Blackbaud CRM, Ellucian CRM Advance, Salesforce CRM, UC Innovation Ascend, etc. Experience with marketing platforms – Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Eloqua, Adobe Experience Cloud, etc. Experience working within the confines of a cloud-based or packaged product to meet user requirements. Experience with one or more complex ERP/CRM implementations. Experience in the higher education IT industry; knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within higher education IT. Experience with PL/SQL, Python, R, or other structured query or data analysis language. Experience with Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, advanced MS Excel functionality, or other visual communication tool. Experience with UT Austin administrative systems.
Salary Range
$85,000 +depending on qualifications
