Xavier University seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Department of Social Work. Adjuncts typically teach one, 3-credit course in the Spring and/or Fall semesters in the Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) program. Course assignments are made with consideration of the candidate’s expertise but examples include:
  • Social Policy & Contemporary Issues
  • Introduction to Gender and Diversity Studies
  • Child Welfare and Development
  • Communication Skills with Diverse Clients
  • Trends in Modern Society: Race
  • Values, Human Rights, and Advocacy
  • Research Methods
Key Qualifications:
  • Master’s level degree or higher in social work from a CSWE-accredited program, or a master’s degree or higher in a field other than social work (such as gender studies, gerontology, African studies) that is related to a special social work topic (Gender & Diversity, Race Relations, or Aging)
  • Or, a BSW from a CSWE-accredited program and 10 years of practice in the field of social work
