Xavier University seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Department of Social Work. Adjuncts typically teach one, 3-credit course in the Spring and/or Fall semesters in the Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) program. Course assignments are made with consideration of the candidate’s expertise but examples include:
- Social Policy & Contemporary Issues
- Introduction to Gender and Diversity Studies
- Child Welfare and Development
- Communication Skills with Diverse Clients
- Trends in Modern Society: Race
- Values, Human Rights, and Advocacy
- Research Methods
- Master’s level degree or higher in social work from a CSWE-accredited program, or a master’s degree or higher in a field other than social work (such as gender studies, gerontology, African studies) that is related to a special social work topic (Gender & Diversity, Race Relations, or Aging)
- Or, a BSW from a CSWE-accredited program and 10 years of practice in the field of social work
