Scope of Job:
To perform coordination, application, and monitoring of employee engagement activities and wellness initiatives exercising independent judgement and specialized knowledge. Develops materials and activities to promote organizational culture and employee engagement, including employee On-Boarding program, employee recognition, and employee wellness initiatives.

Description of Duties:
  • Proposes, coordinates and implements quality services affecting employee engagement activities and initiatives including new hire On-Boarding program, orientation, employee recognition, retention-focused efforts, and wellness initiatives.
  • Develops and delivers presentations related to On-Boarding program, employee engagement best practices, well-being initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
  • Manages and monitors all event logistics, associated with new hire On-Boarding, Wellness Champion cohorts, wellness activities, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Develops and compiles metrics and reports to assess services including new hire survey data to provide a baseline point of reference regarding comprehensive On-Boarding experience, employee engagement, and employee wellness.
  • Tracks new hires through their first year of employment at UTRGV, captures data at periodic benchmarks for program evaluation and engagement.
  • Develops communications, webpages, and resource materials to promote awareness of engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Researches strategic opportunities to enhance programs and processes to enhance
  • efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates and develops new partnerships with University departments, acts as committee representatives for collaboration efforts.
  • Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities.
  • Attends meetings and conferences related to corresponding program initiatives.
  • Serves as an ambassador for UTRGV, our values, culture and service standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Supervision Received:
General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or stated work experience is accepted in lieu of education on a 2-for-1 basis.

Licenses/Certifications:
None.

Required Experience:
Three (3) years of relevant experience in Human Resources, outreach services, project/event coordination, public relations, or closely related area preforming related duties.

Equipment:
Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.
