Department of Accounting
Assistant Professor of Accounting
Tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning August 2023. Applicants should possess a Ph.D./DBA or equivalent in accounting, or a Ph.D./DBA in a related area with professional certification in accounting. ABD applicants will be considered if all degree requirements are expected to be fulfilled by February 1, 2024. Applicants should have a record or demonstrate the potential for a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, quality research and service. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, research leading to publications in peer reviewed journals, and university and community service. Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units. An instructional workload of six (6) course units can be continued if the individual is maintaining qualification as a Scholarly Academic under the college standards. We are seeking candidates who can teach auditing and financial accounting at the intermediate and advanced levels. Candidates with strong backgrounds in data analytics are also desired. COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
Department of Theatre Arts
Assistant Professor, Theatre Arts
Tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts beginning August 2023. This new faculty member will specialize in directing and immersive perfor mance creation with a focus on new technology in the arts. MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre or related field. At least three years of professional teaching experience. (This does not include teaching as part of your graduate program). A record of successful performance creation. Candidates should show the potential for ongoing creative or scholarly work. The department is looking for someone who is savvy in media technology as it interacts with the stage, using it as a tool for creative inquiry in tandem with technological developments. The successful candidate will bring experience with integration of technology with directing and/or the creation of original work. This may include devised or immersive work. Additional specialization in dramaturgy is preferred. Candidates will a demonstrated record of successful college-level and teaching and whose work demonstrates a commitment to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in theatre are particularly encouraged to apply. Faculty are assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning in the second year, the standard instructional workload is seven (7) course units per academic year. Directing a mainstage production for the department counts as teaching one course. In addition to new courses, the candidate will develop (such as Introduction to New Technology and Projection Design), a successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach the existing Directing 1 and Ensemble Theatre Laboratory courses and should be able to teach some of the following existing undergraduate courses: Script Analysis, History of Theatre and Drama, and Cultural Diversity in Contemporary Theatre. Department of Biological Sciences
Assistant Professor of Cell or Molecular Plant Physiology
Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Cell or Molecular Plant Physiology in the Department of Biological Sciences beginning August 2023. Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related areas of research is required. Demonstrated scholarly ability and research expertise in the area of Plant Physiology or in Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Pathology, Plant Microbiology or Plant Genetics with a focus on physiological processes will be given priority. Individuals with postdoctoral experience and teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring students from a diverse student body including students of color and non-traditional students. Candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a research program while mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory and pursuing extramural funding. Primary teaching responsibilities for this tenure-track appointment may include introductory biology lecture and laboratory classes, plant physiology, cell biology, molecular biology and upper-level and graduate level courses in the field of cell and molecular biology. Assistant Professor, Microbiology or Virology
9-month, tenure-track appointment in Microbiology or Virology within the Cell and Molecular Biology Area of the Department of Biological Sciences beginning August 2023. Successful applicants are expected to possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, to establish a productive research/ scholarly program in microbiology or virology involving undergraduate and master’s students, and to actively pursue extramural funding for that research. Successful candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and will likely have postdoctoral experience. The candidate’s research program should be in microbiology or virology. Teaching responsibilities will include one or more of the following: microbiology or virology, an upper-level course in cell or molecular biology and an upper-level elective or graduate course in the candidate’s area of specialization. Development of a course-based undergraduate research laboratory class (CURE) is also encouraged and supported.
