Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The MarineQuest Summer Program Night Director is an essential part of the summer program administrative team. The Summer Program Night Director is responsible for the overseeing and supervising all evening instructors and RAs. The Night Director is responsible for leading evening staff training sessions, scheduling evening instructors and RAs, and implementing the Staff Code of Conduct for all staff living in the residential hall. They will oversee all programmatic evening social and educational activities, student related residence life including meals, sleeping arrangements, and behavior management. This includes assisting with student supervision and overseeing implementation of the MarineQuest Policies and Procedures especially the Student Code of Conduct.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree
  • Housing & residence life experience
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Marine Sciences, education, or related field
  • Lifeguard certification
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of STEM is a plus
  • Genuine interest in the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents
  • Prefer to have strong oral communication skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative, positivity, and leadership qualities
  • Interest and experience working with youth
  • Demonstrate qualities of maturity, patience, and responsibility
Required Certifications or Licensure
  • First Aid and CPR Certification adult and child
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Work Hours

Typically 6:00AM - 8:30AM and 3:30PM -10:30PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 6:00AM - 9:30AM; 12:00PM - 10:30PM Sunday; Occasional overtime possible as needed to address unforeseen after-hours concerns or administrative needs.

Sunday afternoon - Friday morning

Hours Per Week

40 hours, plus potential of 7 overtime hours per week

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
