POSITION: Faculty in Biology; tenure-track

TITLE: Assistant Professor in Biology

STARTING DATE: Fall 2023

DEADLINE: Screening of applications begins January 13th and continues until position is filled.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. by September 2023 in Biology or related discipline; ability to teach upper-level majors' Anatomy and Physiology, other biology courses and willingness to contribute to general education and team-taught courses; dissection experience with a willingness to supervise cadaver dissection; evidence of potential for teaching excellence; promise of continued scholarly activity; and willingness to support the mission of the College. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level Anatomy and Physiology teaching, cadaver dissection experience, health professions advising and research experience, and expertise that complements current faculty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach (the equivalent of) three 14-week undergraduate courses in both fall and winter terms including a two-semester Anatomy and Physiology sequence for majors, with opportunities to rotate into the senior research course and introductory biology, as well as one 4-week May term course; mentor seniors in research; advise students in the health professions; engage in scholarship and service appropriate to the liberal arts setting.

SALARY: Competitive

CONTRACT: Nine-month, tenure-track contract.
