This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose

Serve as lead worker of full-time and seasonal custodians in the area assigned to include: training new and current employees in the safe and proper use of custodial supplies and equipment. Operate equipment of the trade and deliver/pick up equipment that has been taken to the repair shop when needed. Make recommendations to Supervisor regarding hiring and disciplinary actions in relation to the Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ). Serve as the Acting Custodial Supervisor, as requested. Assist Supervisor in planning, organizing and evaluating performance of employees, student workers, as well as seasonal custodians when needed. Assist custodians in the performance of their duties when needed.

Experience

1. Two years custodial experience in a University, hospitality or healthcare facility environment required.
2. Six months lead worker or supervisory experience required. Seasonal/Summer lead experience in Housing Custodial preferred.

Knowledge of operations, maintenance, and minor repair of custodial equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to perform all procedures to maintain hard surface floors.
Knowledge of custodial supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
Ability to train custodians on equipment and/or chemicals and supplies.
Ability to react to last minute changes or requests immediately and in a friendly manner.
Ability to read and understand all training materials.
Ability to order supplies and maintain inventory.
Knowledge and ability to check out/in keys from FPO key locker.
