Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally-ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a two-year visiting assistant professor of humanities jointly appointed in the Integrated Program in Humane Studies (IPHS) and an affiliated department, beginning July 1, 2023. Candidates should have expertise in an interdisciplinary field of research in the humanities or social sciences and be prepared to teach both the year-long, team-taught introductory course and upper-division courses in IPHS and/or the affiliated department. IPHS courses draw students from a wide range of majors and should appeal to diverse backgrounds. Expertise in Digital Humanities, broadly construed to include a wide range of approaches, is especially welcome. Collaboration in both teaching and research is highly valued. Candidates should have a record of excellent teaching and a Ph.D. in hand or be near completion by the beginning of the appointment.

To apply, candidates should visit the online application site found at http://careers.kenyon.edu. A complete application should include a cover letter, a CV, and contact information for three professional references. Candidates who advance to the interview stage will be asked to additionally submit a statement of teaching philosophy that addresses pedagogical inclusion of a diverse student population and an unofficial graduate school transcript.

All application materials must be submitted electronically through Kenyon’s employment website. Review of applications will begin on January 30 and continue until the position is filled.
