Class Summary
Responsible for providing instruction within the appropriate department/program. Develop and revise curriculum and course work. Provide scheduled office hours for student consultation. Serves on College committees as needed and assigned. Participate in student oriented instructional and advisement activities as needed and assigned.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Master’s Degree in Theatre or Master’s with 18 hours of Dramatic Arts and/or Theatre; prior teaching experience.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre preferred.
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
- Principles and practices of teaching;
- Training techniques;
- Detailed knowledge of material being taught in the specific course and program area;
- Student engagement techniques;
- Record keeping procedures;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Ability to teach Script Analysis, Acting I, Theatre Appreciation, Film Appreciation and other courses as assigned.

Job Duties
- Comply with all college policies and safety policies to ensure a positive learning environment for student instruction and to support the activities of the college and to attend meetings and training as required.
- Direct two productions each year as assigned by COM Theatre artistic director ( COM Theatre mainstage and/or Lab productions). Two course releases for directing two productions each season.
- Ability to teach Script Analysis, Acting I, Theatre Appreciation, Film Appreciation and other courses as assigned.
- Provide production support for fellow Theatre faculty/staff as needed.
- Supervision of students at Theatre related events.
- Participate in departmental recruitment activities as needed.
- Maintain professional credentials and contacts outside of COM Theatre.
- Maintain a minimum of 7.5 scheduled office hours per week to be available for students.

Physical Requirements
Physical: Moderate physical demand. Must be able to stoop, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and assist in theatrical coursework, productions, and workshops.
