Position Title Adjunct Faculty - Electrical Engineering (Spring 2023) The Opportunity

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for an instructor for the course EENG 281- Intro to Circuits. This instructor will teach and provide an engineering science analysist of electrical circuits. The position is for our Spring 2023 session with classes starting on 1/10/2023, the class will be offered MWF from 9:00-9:50am.

All the listed courses are taught in a coordinated setting which includes use of the common homework and exams, as well as a common course calendar and learning objectives. At a minimum, adjunct faculty participate in group grading for course exams and will perform other grading duties depending on the course. Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes as per course syllabus and schedule to meet the required contact hours.
  • Employ relevant teaching strategies and foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Assess student work and progress toward mastery of learning outcomes with timely feedback.
    Hold weekly office hours.
  • Utilize the class technologies to help with course management, course delivery, and student communication including the LMS Canvas.
  • Develop, assess, and improve course materials, assignments, and delivery (as necessary).
  • Attend a weekly instructor meeting (as necessary).
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field; PhD degree is desirable.
  • Proven (or promise thereof) teaching ability with college-level engineering courses.
  • Ability to work in a team and teach in a coordinated setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Pay Range

$8,000.00

Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
