Job Overview

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (AEEM) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a tenured position at the rank of full Professor under the Ohio Eminent Scholar Program.  The position is intended for a senior faculty member with an extensive track record of research excellence who will be able to push the envelope of aerospace engineering to address new challenges in one of three key areas: Solids and Structures, Fluids, and Propulsion.  The position benefits from a generous chair endowment, reduced teaching load consistent with the research focus of the position, and a competitive salary commensurate with candidate experience.  Additionally, the AEEM Department provides unique opportunities to grow a world-class research program that include proximity to major aerospace partners (GE Aviation, Roll Royce, AFRL, and NASA Glenn) and the first co-op program in the nation which ensures a continuous pipeline of excellent student talent.  The University of Cincinnati has a strong Aerospace pedigree; Ohio is the ‘birthplace of aviation’ and Neil Armstrong joined the AEEM department as faculty two years after the moon landing.
