Associate Professor / Assistant Professor of Language Studies (PR0328/22-23)

The Department of English Language and Literature invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

The appointee is expected to teach courses and supervise theses at all levels.  The applicant should be a linguist who complements our department’s research strengths, with a transdisciplinary vision relevant to the digital age in a society like Hong Kong.  Applicants are expected to conduct and disseminate research and obtain grants.  The appointee will additionally be expected to perform service to the university, community, and profession.
 
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in language studies or a related field before September 2023.  They should have a strong record of research publication as well as a record of success in obtaining external grants, or the potential for doing so.

The appointment is expected to commence in March 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.  Position will remain open until filled.  Review of applications begins in mid-December, 2022.

Remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation allowance wherever appropriate.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
