Oregon Institute of Technology, the premier public polytechnic university in the Pacific Northwest, and the Business & Technology Department (Management) invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Information Technology / Health Informatics. The Information Technology / Health Informatics Faculty position will have teaching responsibilities in multiple areas of the Information Technology program. Candidates must demonstrate experience working with software development projects, systems design, and analytics projects in a Health Care setting. This position will be in Portland, Oregon with some online courses required in load. As part of their professional development, faculty will be expected to: pursue funded research opportunities to support student research and activities; build curriculum and labs in support of Oregon Tech’s information technology programming; establish industry relationships in support of student projects and internship experiences; and engage in scholarly activities aligned with their professional goals. Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Evidence of prior teaching in higher education and/or relevant industry experience applying and designing technology solutions incorporating SDLC methodologies

Research

  • History of a current applicable research program through applied or empirical research

Qualification Requirements:

Education

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Skills

  • Candidate must demonstrate knowledge in C#.NET or Python, HTML / Java Script, SQL Server, & Windows operating systems
  • Exposure with networking systems and Windows Server Systems Analysis Methodologies such as SCRUM or AGILE
  • Experience managing large-scale information systems projects
  • Demonstrated experience with big data methodologies utilizing infrastructures such as Hadoop, Amazon S3 or MongoDB
  • A successful candidate will also have experience with analytics platforms such as Tableau, SPSS, R or Power BI.
