About the Position:

CSUF's eight colleges and the Office of Graduate Studies have Student Success Teams. Teams include your associate deans, your faculty and staff major advisors, your graduation specialists (serving juniors and seniors to help you plan your degree completion); retention specialists (helping freshmen and sophomores navigate their college transition and overcome academic struggles); assistant deans (helping to connect you to a variety of campus-wide and college-based experiences, leadership and mentoring opportunities, tutoring, university and college-specific scholarships, and address any concerns that could get in the way of your success); and career specialists (serving you early and often as you explore your talents and prepare for your transition to the professional world) and partners in the Academic Advisement Center. Your Student Success Team is part of a campus-wide support system focused on partnering with you in your personal and academic success. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Articulation Assistant (Administrative Analyst/ Specialist-Non Exempt). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under general direction of the Associate Registrar and Articulation Analyst the Administrative Analyst is the first point of contact for all issues regarding to articulation. Assists in the development and maintains, and oversees all college articulation information and transfer credit agreements, including the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), California State University General Education Breadth (CSU GEB), Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT, or SB 1440) and other state-wide transfer agreement programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Assists faculty-approved articulation agreements and course equivalencies between higher education institutions. Supports the Transfer Credit Evaluators in final evaluation process as it relates to transfer course articulation rules, external exam credits; trouble-shoot and clean up Transfer Articulation (TA) table. Coordinates with the Associate Registrar, the Articulation Analyst and Titan degree Audit Support Services Unit to ensure accurate entry of articulated course information in the campus degree audit (U. Achieve) articulation tables. Maintains thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and applicable laws to disseminate current and accurate articulation information to faculty, campus academic units, advisors/counselors, students, and the public. Reviews and recommends for incoming pending GE eligible transfer credits through pending rules that have been evaluated by admissions evaluators into U.Achieve tables. Reviews annual curriculum changes from CSUF, and other CCCs and modify rules in the TA table. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Counseling, Clinical psychology, social work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Successful experience in articulation or college student services program that includes working knowledge of articulation and intricacies of curriculum. Experience of Articulation process with the CCC, UC and CSU systems, as well as independent colleges and universities. Experience with degree audit performance tools such as DARwin, U.direct, and U.achieve. Experience working as a transfer credit or admissions/graduation evaluator. Knowledge of CSUF policies and procedures. Understanding of CSU Executive Orders, including policies and procedures pertinent to General Education curriculum. Ability to use a PC, Microsoft Office, and database student record systems such as PeopleSoft, ASSIST, U.Achieve and FileNET.
