Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with coordinating the tutoring program, which includes recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling tutors. Coordinate online, asynchronous, and face-to-face tutoring modalities. Collaborate with academic colleges and student service units to evaluate tutoring services. Provide outreach, orientations, and marketing materials to promote tutoring programs by managing email, website and social media accounts. Facilitate and assess sessions for the College Reading and Learning Association ( CRLA ) tutor training program and help to maintain its certification. Assist with tracking and assessment of services and prepare reports for the Office of the Provost and for institutional assessment. Assist students and faculty with customer service issues and provides solutions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in a disciple relevant to the teaching/learning process, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

A minimum of three (3) years experience working with at-risk college students, including students with disabilities; database management skills experience required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community; Demonstrate the ability to facilitate others in a training setting; Work well independently and as a part of a team; high level of initiative; Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; Computer competency; Experience tutoring or teaching is preferred.

This position is grant-funded. Employment is subject to available funding.
