Position Purpose
The Counseling Center provides essential services to students, contributing to their mental health, functioning, and success as learners and leaders in their personal lives and in the community.
Duties include providing direct clinical service to students (initial consultation, suicide risk assessment, crisis management, brief individual, couples, and group therapy), both in-person and via telemental health; complete accurate and timely documentation; provides outreach and psychoeducation; provides consultation to the campus community; participates in staff meetings and projects; provides after-hours/on call services, if needed; provides supervision for staff clinicians, if needed and qualified; and engages in professional development to earn/maintain licensure.

Master’s degree in the field of Counseling, Social Work or in a related field that meets criteria for Missouri (MO) State licensure as Licensed Professional Counseling ( LPC ) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW ) or as Licensed Marital & Family Therapist ( LMFT ) required.
Doctorate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or related field that meets criteria for Missouri State licensure as Psychologist preferred.
APA – accredited pre-doctoral internship at a university/college counseling center is desirable but not required.
