Tenure Track or Clinical Track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor – Small Animal Surgery

The Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, located in Ames, Iowa, invites applications for a full-time, clinical-track or tenure-track faculty position in the small animal surgery section of the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC).  We are looking to complement our existing team of Board Certified veterinary surgeons in the areas of soft tissue, orthopedic or a mixed surgical focus.  The qualifications, documented experience, and interests of the selected candidate will determine appointment rank.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to collaborate with the current accomplished team of veterinary surgeons and allied specialists to enhance care and treatment of patients at the LVMC. The recently renovated Small Animal Hospital is fully equipped with five state of the art and spacious surgical suites complemented by top of the line equipment to facilitate minimally invasive surgery (orthopedics and soft tissue) with near infrared technology, joint replacements, and interventional radiology procedures. The recent purchase of a mobile radiology unit facilitates imaging in the operating suites to improve efficiency and further minimize surgical site contamination. Other specialties currently available at the LVMC include cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, emergency and critical care, radiology, internal medicine, oncology, and ophthalmology. Our growing oncology service has seen the recent addition of two board certified radiation oncologists to further integrate patient treatment with our on-site stereotactic radiation therapy unit.
