Non-tenure- Assistant/Associate Professor position
Responsibilities will include pre-clinical and clinical instruction, administrative supervision, and when necessary intercepted care to patients in our pre-doctoral clinic.
Group Leaders are responsible for: assignment of patients to 24 student dentists, tracking and documenting each student dentist’s clinical progress, development of comprehensive treatment plans that coordinate multiple dental disciplines, supervising/guiding/intervening, and evaluation of student dentist’s delivery of dental care.
Other Group Leaders Responsibilities:

To support the vision, mission, core values and goals of the institution through teaching, service, patient care and research.

To educate dental students with best available evidence to achieve and maintain optimal patient oral health, comfort, function, and esthetics.

Instructing pre-doctoral students in the following environments: simulation laboratory, didactic (classroom / seminar), and clinic.

Willingness and ability to cover pre-doctoral students in the clinical setting in procedures as pertaining to General Dentistry.

Seeking to serve on committees and boards for state/federal government agencies, professional societies, and/or within the school.

Actively engaging in community service with students / residents.

Conducting basic or clinical research, and/or other scholarly activities, that will qualify for appropriate promotion and tenure.

Participating in emergency services.

Additional duties as assigned by the Chair of General Dentistry and the Dean of the College of Dentistry that are essential to division’s and school’s operations.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited dental school, eligibility for licensure in Tennessee, and ten (10) years of either private practice or military dental experience.
