The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a regional campus of the University of South Carolina located approximately thirty-five (35) miles south of Charlotte, NC seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in Criminal Justice beginning August 16, 2023.
The position requires a Doctor of Musical Arts or PhD in Music Education with a focus in at least one of the following specializations: Choir, Music Theater, Music Theory, World Music.
The position will normally require the teaching of twelve credit hours per semester or its equivalent. One course release a year is given for tenure-track faculty.
The basic requirement is the ability to teach MUSC 110: Introduction to Music and other Core (General Education) courses. In addition to teaching foundational music courses for freshmen and sophomore students, there are opportunities to teach upper-division courses in the University’s Palmetto College bachelor’s degree programs.
The ideal candidate will be able to support and create co-curricular programs in areas such as performing arts and community choir.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the university level.
Scholarship, advising, and university/community service are expected.
