Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position with no benefits.
As part of the ACT grant, AttrACTing the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Workforce, the Industry Coordinator will take the lead on tasks related to expansion of industry partnership and collaboration, mentor recruitment, and placing students in internships. Working with the grant team, they will work with industry partners to manage all mutual activities, such as communications and meetings, managing activities (talks, tours, and visits), mentor relations, and internship/job coordination. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with industry and promoting success among a diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with nonprofit, academic, and industry stakeholders, resulting in new internship and mentorship opportunities for students;
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate interpersonally orally and in writing;Collaborate to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff;
  • Attend Program meetings;
  • Use technology effectively to communicate with industry, students and colleagues;
  • Work with grant’s external evaluator;
  • Coordinate grant-related events for MassBay students;
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM, from an accredited university;
  • Experience in program implementation, relationship building, and data-driven results.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
  • Experience working in a diverse environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
  • Experience with federal and/or state grants;
  • Experience in conducting surveys to gather and analyze data for the program;
  • Experience in creating and offering community-building events;
  • Interest in and familiarity with workforce development needs in the regional community;
  • Familiarity with outreach activities with college schools.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $35 per hour

Position Type: PT - Seasonal/ Temporary
