The University of Findlay invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor faculty position in Computer Science to begin as early as January 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses in computer science at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the undergraduate level, courses taught will range from digital literacy for majors and non-majors to general programming courses for majors. At the graduate level, the successful candidate will teach data analytics or security-related courses.

In addition to teaching, other expectations of this position will be to contribute towards the development of online course offerings and new coursework in related areas, and ways to enhance department course offerings. The candidate must be committed to student-centered education, be able to contribute collaboratively to overall program growth in a variety of capacities including recruitment, curriculum development, and community outreach and service.

Doctoral candidates or those who are ABD with an anticipated completion date of dissertation defense by August 2023 will be given the highest preference. Those with a master’s degree will also be considered but such candidates should have at least 5 years of related industry experience. Regardless of the degree, a specific background in either data analytics or security is sought. Previous teaching experience in F2F, online, and hybrid modalities is also a positive.

Per the policies of the University of Findlay, a visiting position may be renewed twice depending on the annual review. Exemplary teaching, service, and possession of the terminal degree may warrant consideration of conversion of the visiting position to full-time status.
