Job Summary/Basic Functions
The VUB Education Specialist serves as a higher education generalist, instructor, and training facilitator. The Education Specialist assesses, monitors and documents participants' academic, social, and emotional needs, applying intervention strategies when required. The Education Specialist administers and interprets formal and informal needs assessments and/or strengths assessments for incoming participants and develops and implements strategies to address barriers to participants' progression and success towards entry into postsecondary education, making appropriate campus and externally-based referrals as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required.
Experience: Three years of related experience in higher education is required, with a high level of knowledge of counseling and education administration.

Job Duties:
- 50% - Oversee VUB program activities, including but not limited to, processing applications, conducting assessments, test analysis, development of education plans, and other activities targeted towards participant academic success. Engage with internal and external constituents and make referrals as needed. - (Essential)
- 20% - Conduct and/or coordinate workshops designed to address any emotional or social needs. - (Essential)
- 20% - Assist with recruitment of eligible veterans for the VUB program. - (Essential)
- 10% - Support the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
