Assistant Director of Residency

 

 

 

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following positions: Assistant Director of Residency. The Assistant Director of Residency will manage all aspects of residency (domicile) counseling and determination for new, current, and returning students. This position provides the campus with expertise in South Carolina residency regulation. This position also assists with meeting the University’s enrollment goals as outlined in the strategic plan.

 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Manages all aspects of the domiciliary application process for all students. Advises, counsels and meets with University constituents regarding South Carolina residency regulations, University policies, and office procedures. Maintains CCU’s South Carolina Residency web pages and manages the main residency phone line and email inbox, which requires extensive verbal and written communication with the public. Manages the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) process to verify citizenship and immigration status of non-citizen students and parents, when applicable. Completes an audit of each incoming enrollment class to ensure proper documentation is on file by census date of each term. Serves as the primary residency officer for the office and University, as well as the secondary point of contact for the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education regarding residency determinations. Serves as dual residency official and student advocate for the University’s Residency Appeal Process. Serves as residency liaison to Financial Aid & Scholarships and Military & Veteran Services to provide residency determinations for state aid programs and the Veterans Choice Acts (Section 702). Represents the University and Office of Admissions and Merit Awards at on- and off-campus events, as needed. Prepares presentations and training materials regarding residency. Monitors weekly audit reports to verify the accuracy and timeliness of residency determinations. Performs routine audits to ensure consistency in initial residency determinations made by the Residency Coordinator. Supervises the Residency Coordinator position and the position’s primary job function of initial residency determination of all applicants. Provides functional coverage of the Residency Coordinator’s duties in the event of a temporary absence or vacancy. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and related experience is required.  Two (2) years of related work experience preferred and prior higher education, residency determination, or tax preparation experience are preferred.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61122532/FTE-S00741P), full-time position with benefits.  SC State Pay Band: 05.  Salary range: $35,360.00 (minimum) - $50,394.00 (midpoint).  Salary commensurate with education and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends in support of recruitment initiatives. Occasional travel, including out-of-state travel, may also be required for recruitment and professional development activities.
