Dean of Business

Bentley University is more than just one of the nation's top business schools. It's a university that creates successful leaders who make business a force for positive change. Located just 10 miles west of Boston, Bentley enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduate, 1,000 graduate, and 25 doctoral students. With a combination of business and the arts and sciences and a flexible, personalized approach to education, Bentley provides students with critical thinking and practical skills that prepare them to lead successful, rewarding careers. Bentley is dedicated to inspiring and preparing ethical leaders who will confront the challenges of today and shape the opportunities of tomorrow.

Bentley seeks an experienced, collaborative, far-sighted leader as its next dean of business, overseeing the undergraduate program, the McCallum Graduate School of Business, and executive education. The dean will provide strategic direction and oversight of the largest academic division in the university and will partner with the provost and the dean of arts and sciences to promote academic excellence overall. Reporting to Provost Donna Maria Blancero, the ideal candidate will arrive on campus ready to plan the future of Bentley's graduate and professional programs and demonstrate successful experience in identifying niche opportunities that will serve the adult market well, attract external partners, and build on Bentley's excellent reputation. The dean also will oversee a smooth transition to the new undergraduate curriculum, foster a culture of continuous improvement, carefully steward existing resources, and diversify revenue through active engagement in fund-raising and program development. The dean will be an inclusive, just administrator and promote diversity, equity, and racial justice on a campus devoted to sustaining a positive culture.

This is an exciting moment of transition for Bentley, as Dr. E. LaBrent Chrite, the ninth president of Bentley University and an experienced higher education leader who believes business can be a force to improve society and change lives for the better, joined the university in June 2021. As a new member of the senior administration, the dean will encounter a campus excited to begin this new chapter and eager to grow and innovate.
