The Division of Health Policy and Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics is seeking a highly motivated Research Coordinator A/B to be responsible for the day-to-day execution of research activities for multiple studies that adapt existing behavioral science approaches to reduce atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk for Penn Medicine patients.

Job Description

The Division of Health Policy and Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics is seeking a highly motivated Research Coordinator A/B to be responsible for the day-to-day execution of research activities for multiple studies that adapt existing behavioral science approaches to reduce atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk for Penn Medicine patients. These studies adapt existing behavioral science evidence as well as novel patient, physician and health system approaches to identify, diagnose and treat patients at elevated ASCVD risk and improve hypertension management, lower cholesterol, increase physical activity and achieve smoking cessation.

The pilots will lead to the design and implementation of a large randomized control trial focused on patients in West and Southwest Philly and in Lancaster, PA. Essential functions of this position will include but are not limited to: recruitment and enrollment of study participants; data collection and management in accordance with study protocols; following all IRB and human subjects policies and regulations; performing chart reviews; managing study-related materials and documentation; communicating with participants; conducting post-intervention interviews and other research duties as needed.

In addition to the above, the Research Coordinator B will have demonstrated research experience and administrative skills. Additional duties will include communications with a spectrum of stakeholders including clinicians. The Clinical Research Coordinator B is expected to provide additional involvement in developing recruitment and other process strategies, presenting data and reports to the research team.

The salary range available for these positions is $44,947 - $52,661.

Clinical Research Coordinator A: Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Clinical Research Coordinator B: Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Both levels: A great opportunity for a candidate with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills who is interested in joining a great team who are passionate about behavioral science/behavioral economics research and reducing health disparities.

The candidate will be a motivated self-starter, detail oriented with strong planning and prioritizing capabilities who is able to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including investigators, clinicians and patients. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Comfort with web based platforms and technology strongly preferred. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel is essential; familiarity with good data management practices, REDCap and previous EHR experience preferred. Position contingent upon funding.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
