SMART Center Program Manager

About the Opportunity

Northeastern SMART is a technology transfer accelerator - bridging the gap from academic researches to industrial applications by leveraging university-wide ecosystem and offering the complete value chain from basic research and device/system conception to prototype development and pilot manufacturing with the aim of reducing the time for innovation and technology transition to the private sector.

SMART Center Program Manager will work under the supervision of the Center's Assistant Director of Finance and Administration, assisting Center's daily operation, marketing, and finance. The position provides assistance on grant and finance reporting, Center activities and communications, marketing and space management. S/he must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with all members in the Center, including the Industrial Partners.

S/he will work with Assistant Director of Finance and Administration on budget procedures, college policies and procedures, procurement, Concur, E-print reports and Banner. S/he will be in charge of Center website maintenance and update, and advise suitable marketing opportunities and approaches.

A Bachelor's Degree, major in Business Administration preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance and operations management required. Good budgeting and quantitative analytical experience.

  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, demonstrated proficient computer skills (Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a willingness to learn new approaches/programs.
  • Excellent website design skills using WordPress.
  • Outstanding intuition and creativity in problem solving.
  • Quick learning capability and attention to details.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at once, work independently, and handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and people from the industry.

Must be flexible, enthusiastic, open to and energized by change
