About the Opportunity
The Graduate Coordinator is a key position within the College of
Science, focused on the support and success of our graduate
(Master's and PhD) programs and the students within those programs.
Specifically, the Graduate Coordinator is charged with the
efficient, timely, and effective administration of application
review and processing for graduate programs as well as overseeing
aspects of student accounts, including the awarding of financial
aid, scholarships, tuition remission, stipends, and other funding
The Graduate Coordinator is to be well-versed in university,
college, and department academic policies and procedures. This,
coupled with their management of graduate student funding packages,
makes them a critical part of student success and degree
Bachelor's degree in higher education and/or related field
required. Two years or more of experience working in a higher
education, nonprofit, or related professional environment required.
Previous experience in higher education preferred. Strong
organizational, case-management, and interpersonal communication
skills required. Ability to work with enterprise-level databases
and proactively manage tasks across a variety of systems
The College of Science maintains a strong culture of collaboration

- Review all applications in assigned portfolio and determine
admissions decisions within one business day for graduate programs
as assigned (example: Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Master's
programs and Graduate Certificates, Cell and Gene Therapies
Master's program, in all delivery modalities including Boston,
online and regional campuses ).
- Liaison between Enrollment Management and departments /
programs regarding key deadlines, procedures, and needed
- Represent the College at recruitment events. Provide support to
university recruitment initiatives such as the the University Open
House, coordinate session activities with Graduate Admissions
- Participate in College undergraduate retention initiatives as
they pertain to graduate student recruitment and intake.
- Working with academic departments, who will make admissions
decisions, and Enrollment Management, who will process most of
admitted student materials, the Graduate Coordinator will play a
supporting role in confirming incoming student program
registration, setup in various required systems, and other work as
needed to properly begin their program of study within the
Student Services and Funding Management:
- Coordinate student funding (financial aid, scholarships,
awards, stipends, fellowships, tuition remission etc.), including
working with departments to understand available funding packages,
reconcile funding by student, upload to appropriate systems, and
ensure funding is correctly applied to student accounts.
- Follow up and troubleshoot any issues related to student
funding and support.
Student Services Support:
- Meet with students to discuss questions or concerns around
their funding support as needed, and connect them with proper
resources as appropriate.
- Serve as academic Student and Exchange Visitor Information
System (SEVIS) contact for the Office of Global Services (OGS) as
pertains to College of Science students and visitors.
- Review and process submitted OGS forms for accuracy and provide
general advice to students and faculty regarding visa
- Monitor registration reporting for international student
Special Advising and Student Support Projects As
- Other duties within the general breadth and essence of job
scope as assigned.
