The Santa Clara University Women’s and Gender Studies (WGST) Department at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks a dynamic Inclusive Excellence Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of Gender, Race, and Social Justice. Specifically, we seek a feminist teacher-scholar who conducts research at the intersections of gender, race, class, and sexuality with an emphasis on advocacy and social change. Areas of research specialization could include but are not limited to: health and reproductive justice, including reproductive and medical technologies; environmental justice/environmental studies; feminist geographies; gender, immigration, and border studies; feminist science and technology studies; critical disability studies; critical masculinity studies, and trans feminisms/studies. We welcome applications from scholars whose work is interdisciplinary in nature, including those whose work engages indigeneity, sovereignty studies, and Latin/x or Chican/x studies.
This is a two-year 12-month per year postdoctoral fellowship with the goal of supporting the early development of teaching scholars who are from historically underrepresented groups. The position is part of a cluster hire in Race, Inequality and Social Justice that includes six other departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. The postdoc term includes two full summers of research with the possibility of transition to a tenure-track position at the conclusion of the fellowship period (2023-2025).
