Job Summary

Process new undergraduate student applications and application materials. Review transcripts and aid in admissions decisions to meet enrollment goals for Georgia Southern University.

Responsibilities
  • Enter data from application and related documents into the Banner Student Information System
  • Perform Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) evaluations; calculate High School GPAs for incoming students
  • Work with Admissions Counselor(s) to meet enrollment goals
  • Make admissions application decisions based on the requirements set by the University.
  • Scan and index documents using Banner Document Management (BDM) including downloading and indexing electronic transcripts
  • Download test scores, applications, and transcripts.
  • Enter prospective student information into Slate
  • Assist with large on-campus recruitment events (i.e., open houses and orientations) periodically throughout the year, including some weekends
  • Answer routine student, parent and counselor inquiries concerning admissions policies and procedures


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Banner student information system


Proposed Salary

$14.66 - $17.40 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

  • Familiarity with college and university programs, majors, admissions requirements and processes, and scholarship and financial aid resources

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Willingness to guide others and provide ongoing support as they make important decisions
