CONTINUING EDUCATION - EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTOR - PART TIME
MALCOLM X COLLEGE
Malcolm X College is currently seeking an Emergency Management Programming Instructor to join the Continuing Education team!
Continuing Education non-credit courses are available for students seeking occupational skills or personal enrichment. If you have passion for teaching and learning, consider joining our team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Form a strong partnership with Chicago’s OEMC’s (Office of Emergency Management and Communication) Training Division to assess needs and opportunities for Community and Continuing Education course development.
- Deliver a thoughtful curriculum that includes clear course objectives and student learning outcomes aligned with OEMC’s Training Division and Malcolm X College’s Community and Continuing Education standards.
- Produce a framework of evaluation and assessment strategies for course.
- In collaboration with Dean and OEMC, develop course schedule and brainstorm marketing opportunities
- Instruct or co-instruct the course at Malcolm X College, using different methods and teaching styles, including simulation, ensuring that participants are fully engaged.
- Inspire, motivate, and foster confidence in all students.
- Emergency Management experience required; Current OEMC employment preferred
- Teaching or training experience highly preferred
- Curriculum development experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to speak in front of an audience comfortably and with confidence
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to develop, prepare and present information.
- Must be able to work in a multicultural environment and embrace our vision and mission.
