Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Human Resources Analyst will serve as a core member of the HR operations team and will be responsible for collecting, compiling and analyzing HR related data, metrics and statistics which will serve to inform the goals and priorities of the HR department and help improve the delivery of services and programs including employee recruitment, engagement and retention and compliance efforts.
Additionally, as a core member of the HR operations team, the Human Resources Analyst/Generalist will also provide general human resources support and will deliver services across a broad range of human resources programs and services including staff recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management and human resources systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting – (50%):
  • Coordinate the collection, maintenance and analysis of human resources related data and metrics from various sources including Banner ( HRIS ), performance management system (PeopleAdmin), exit interview surveys (Qualtrics) and other sources.
  • Develop and produce regular HR metrics and dashboards with core HR statistics for internal use and to help guide and inform HR reporting, planning and forecasting
  • Coordinate and produce annual workforce metrics and analytics including turnover data, workforce diversity, employee recruitment and retention and compensation analysis, etc.
  • Develop and distribute employee surveys and analyze results to inform employee retention and engagement efforts.
  • Collect and compile data for annual HR related surveys and other data collection and reporting. Regular surveys include but is not limited to, AAUP, CUPA -HR, IPEDS, and others.
  • Collaborate with and provide support to the Benefits Manager in the analysis of benefit information including employee participation and utilization as well as creating reports and enrollment files for external vendors or service providers.
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process including set up, testing and configuration of the open enrollment systems and generating reports and upload files.
  • Assist with and provide data support and analysis for the annual compensation and merit review process as well as ad-hoc salary reviews.
  • Collaborate with institutional research and other offices in the identification and development of definitions for key institutional data; serve as the main HR contact supporting and providing data to support the college’s data dictionary (Data Cookbook).
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal requests for HR related data and creating and generating ad-hoc reports.
  • Assist in the development and review of reports to support our workforce diversity efforts. Collaborate with talent management team to develop processes and reports to effectively and proactively monitor recruitment efforts.
Payroll Processing/Data Management and HRIS – (25%)
  • Assist with the data entry and processing of new hires and terminations as well as other general employee payroll related and benefit changes in accordance with the college’s regular biweekly and monthly pay cycles.
  • Assist with the data entry and maintenance of other employment and demographic data and other Human Resources data processing including seasonal hires, leave accruals, annual salary adjustments and changes, adjunct faculty processing and other related changes.
  • Ensure data validation and data integrity and conduct regular audits and reviews of data.
  • Generate and run standard and ad-hoc reports using WebFocus and other reporting tools.
  • Assist in the review and management of on-going Alerts set up through WebFocus.
  • In collaboration with others, assist with the oversight and effective use and maintenance of the HR/Payroll system and sensitive employee data and information.
  • Assist with the ongoing training and support of staff in the efficient use of the HR/Payroll system.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of processes and procedures related to the effective use of the HR/Payroll system.
  • Assist with the testing of system upgrades and enhancements.

Generalist Responsibilities – (25%):
  • Provide general human resources support and deliver services across a broad range of other human resources programs and services including staff recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management and human resources systems including:
  • Provide assistance and support to the Benefits Manager with day-to-day benefits related processing including benefits audits, transmission of benefit files and troubleshooting of benefits related file issues and errors.
  • Coordinate and assist with the ongoing maintenance of the departments job description inventory. Conduct regular audit of job descriptions and coordinate with departments as necessary.
  • Provide assistance with and support the ongoing maintenance and regular review of the college’s employee handbook.
  • Assist with the development and creation of electronic forms and ensure the accessibility of all HR related documents and communications.
  • Coordinate and provide assistance with employee engagement and recognition events and programs – develop communications, coordinate logistics, schedule rooms, order food, maintain registrations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS :
Assist with the supervision of student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Individuals must possess these knowledges, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Previous experience in any human resources related functional area or relevant knowledge and experience in human resources required.
  • Strong technology skills including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of or familiarity with HR or Payroll systems helpful.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and operate effectively within a team environment.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information and matters with tact and discretion.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at one time are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation is essential.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and anti-racism efforts.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two to three years’ HR related experience required including experience specific to data administration and analysis.
