OPS Program Assistant
Job Description:
- Responds to oral, telephonic and written communication related to patient care (appointments, consultations, and emergencies) and performs related clerical duties, i.e., appointing patients in computer, verifying insurance eligibility online, making financial arrangements, scanning documents into software.
- Assists with appointment reminder calls and filling open schedules during periods of downtime.
- Communicates with front desk staff any patient related matters (i.e., appointment scheduling, billing, treatment, etc.).
- Patrols the clinic, monitoring clinical activity as well as the patient schedule to assist dentists.
- Escorting patients to and from main patient welcome area to second floor clinic
- Prepares patient and ensures that patients are comfortable, maintains instruments and materials, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures.
- Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient, and enters the same in the Electronic Health Record system.
- Sets up and breaks down dental operatories.
- Organizes inventory and orders supplies.
- Seats patients, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, setting up, sterilizing and breaking down operatories; taking radiographs, and other duties as needed.
- Weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment and clinic areas, restocking of supplies, process out-going and in-coming lab cases and communication with appropriate doctors.
Expected Salary:
$18.00 - $20.00/per hour

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and one year of appropriate dental experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dental Assistant Certification
- Thorough knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials, and procedures
- Certification as a Dental Radiographer
- Certification in CPR
